1. Smarter World

How will technology transform the way we live?

Explore how engineering, AI, robotics, computing, communication, transportation, and other emerging technologies can create a smarter future.

2. Sustainable Future

How can engineering help our planet thrive?

Show how engineering can contribute to cleaner energy, sustainable communities, conservation, climate solutions, and responsible use of resources.

3. Better Life

How can engineering improve people's lives?

Imagine solutions that improve health, safety, accessibility, transportation, infrastructure, and everyday life for individuals and communities.

Who Can Participate?

High School Division

Students in Grades 9–12 or the international equivalent.

College Division

Students currently enrolled in a college, university, or equivalent undergraduate/post-secondary program.

Students do not need to reside or study in the United States to participate.

What to Submit

Original Artwork

Create an original hand-drawn or hand-painted poster using traditional art materials. Upload a clear photograph or scan of the completed artwork.

Creative Tagline

Add a short, original tagline that captures the message of your artwork and connects with the theme Transform Your Future.

Artist Statement

Submit a 100–200 word statement explaining the artwork, the engineering or technology idea behind it, and how it could transform the future.

Digital artwork and AI-generated artwork are not permitted. The artwork, tagline, and artist statement must be the participant's own original work.

Choose one category and create your original hand-drawn or hand-painted artwork.

Create your tagline and write your 100–200 word artist statement.

Submit

Take a clear photograph or scan of your artwork and complete the online registration and submission form.

Judging Criteria

  • Engineering Idea & Future Impact – 30%
  • Creativity & Originality – 25%
  • Artistic Expression & Visual Communication – 20%
  • Artist Statement – 15%
  • Tagline & Overall Message – 10%
  • Total – 100 Points

Entries will be judged within their respective student division. The three categories are creative choices and do not have separate category prizes.
